Keana Scott

Keana Scott is a physical scientist at NIST. She has a B.S. in engineering and applied sciences from Caltech and a Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from the University of Pittsburgh. After several years working in industry, Keana joined NIST in April 2006 to work on multi-modal bioimaging technique development and the microanalysis of biological materials using electron and ion beams. While working in the private sector, Keana insisted that a informatics tool she helped develop be named SEURAT after artist and inventor of pointillism Georges Seurat because of the similarity between how the tool gathers data and the pointillist painting technique.
